When you fall short or when something doesn't go as planned, it is important to own up to whatever your roll was in that shortcoming. Being able to look in the mirror and correct yourself will save you time from blaming outside forces and others. While there will always be things outside your control and unexpected monkey wrenches, if you get into the habit of woe it's me or they caused it, you'll be in for a long road of hurt. Practice self correction for all mistakes included mental ones. M.W.

It's great to read books and study but that alone will not change your life. In order become what you're trying to become you must practice what you are learning. It is only when you are able to do it and not just know it that you are truly making progress. You should put new things into practice daily. It doesn't have to be perfect but it has to get started. You can't grow until you start and you haven't started until you put your knowledge into practice. Do it like you need it to breathe. M.W.

With all the noise of life from family, friends, work and social media, it is imperative that you spend some quiet time alone. Sit alone with your thoughts or write out a journal if you must but unplug from all technology and be separate from any other individual. Ideally you should do this daily but if that is not possible, at least 2-3 times a week is a must. It helps with clarity, emotional stability & focus. It is also a reset button for stress and a decompression chamber for the mind. M.W.

It is important to exercise regularly. Regardless of your physical goals, exercising is a life requirement. You do not have to become a gym rat or bodybuilder but you should do at least 10-30 minutes of exercise daily. Walking, running, jumping, weights, dancing, swimming, playing a sport, etc. There are plenty of ways to get your exercising done and make it fun. This is a discipline you must learn. You can always increase or decrease your workout time but never skip exercising altogether. M.W.

Having a lot to do is normal. Doing it all is challenging. Prioritizing it is vital. If you want to see a change in your life beyond your wildest dreams, you need to learn how to set priorities. What is the most important thing that needs to get done today? Tomorrow? If you find yourself doing laundry when you should be making phone calls, you'll never achieve your full potential. Write a top 3-5 list and tackle those 1st everyday. This list will change with priorities but always write it. M.W.

I pride myself on having a good memory but writing things down is not for remembering them. That's just an extra benefit. The true impact of writing things down is that it makes it tangible and tangible is real as far as the mind is concerned. Goals get accomplished when they're real and writing them down makes them real. It transfers them from thoughts to reality. If you've never written your goals down, start to do so from this day forward. Write, read & work towards them daily. It works. M.W.

It's important not to overwhelm yourself by only focusing on the end result. End game is important and you should always know what the end game is but you should reverse engineer your goals down to the smallest time frame possible. A yearly goal should be broken down month by month and each month should be broken down week by week and each broken down day by day and each day broken down into a time. 15-30 mins, 1 hour. I don't care how little the time, do a little everyday no matter what. M.W.
